356 manifold question

Just got a pair of 40 IDFs for my 356 to repalce the zeniths it has at the moment.

the manifold for the zeniths looks like it bolts down with one bolt - whilst the weber ones have a middle bolt and two (bolt) holes on the manifold flange?

Will the weber manifold bolt down ok?

Yes its correct.

But what I'm surprised at is why you want to change them?

the Zenith is one of the best carbs ever made..does not wear out..and is correct.

Or have you fitted a big cam and flowed heads?

fair points but the left hand on my car just won't adjust, I think due to an air leak, is slightly damaged and both are not fuel tight, which leads to fuel seepage onto the manifolds, despite two rebuilds - a bit of a concern on a run.

I just want something new, which I feel will be safer in the long run.

do you know if the zenith manifolds are three bolt fixings like the weber ones?

Understand this, but sorting Zeniths is not expensive..

Yes, the manifolds are correct by the sound of it.

I would take the engine out to do the swop every time.
