Fitting a Bug engine in a 356..!

Post by Milly »

It's the only way forward for me..!

Can't afford a rebuild :(

So what do I need to know..?

I know that it bolts on, but is there anything I need to know that I'm gonna come up against down the line..?

Tinware...?
Carb Linkage..?

Any help would be appreciated before I dive on in :)

Thanks in advance

my 356 came with a vdub engine.
The engine had an alternator (if this makes a difference)- no tinware either. ........
Looks to me like it was a simple bolt in job- I couldnt see any signs of cutting etc.
Cant help you on the clutch/flywheel situation- still havent sorted that one myself ! :(
Main trouble may be sourcing an air filter that fits if yours will run a single centre mounted carb. you may not have the clearance to the decklid.
Hope this helps!
Contact me if you have any 356b coupe parts !!!!
