RSR replica / restoration project help
Hello All,
Aim is to take a Supersport and turn it into an RSR lookalike. Does anyone have any suggestions on who I should speak to for a project like that and especially who can build a decent engine? If looking for up to 300bhp, is it better to sell the original 3.2 unit and if so what engine should be used?
Thanks
Seán

I am aiming to get close(ish) to 300 bhp from my Short Stroke 3.2 motor. It has already been dyno’ed at 265 and even though I have not done many miles the motor is coming out and new cams being fitted to lengthen the torque curve.
Mike at MB Engineering is doing the CAM work and also taking a look at my Limited Diff.

I'm sure I'm not the only one but if you have the time I'm sure there are plenty on here who would like to know all the details on you 3.2ss project.
Engine, gearbox, suspension and the resto. I can't be the only one.
Please share on a new thread if you have the time.

Hi Derek and Jasam,
My 3.2 has been finished since the summer but I didn't really get time to use it properly as I was never happy with the new 40% LSD. Hopefully the car should be completely finished in a few weeks and then it can come out to play properly
Most details about the car and motor are on the other post, but if you need any more please feel free to mail me. I don't think I mentioned the gear which is a rebuilt late 915 box with oil cooler. Basically the idea behind the car was for it to remain standard "looking" but with lots of upgrades and a few unique parts.

That car is lovely
congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope that in the future I could upgrade a bit my car, not that much, but some hp would be nice
I'm trying to get all the details of the car, carbs, it seems that the "rebuild kit" was also "stroker", so I'm trying to identify everything thel I'll ask what to change.
I leave a vid of my car, hope anyone tell me if sounds good or bad

Another option would be to go the 993 or 964 engine swap route - as I understand it it's a much cheaper route to 300bhp than tuning out a 3.2 or 3.2. However you don't always know how good the engine is unless you then rebuild it - bumping up the price again
However you may not want the character of the later engine. Personally I'd be quite pleased to have a 964 RS engine under my engine cover but if you're going to do that to a 3.6 it certainly aint cheap either.

The simple things you see are all complicated
I look pretty young but I'm just backdated yeah
