what car?

Is the noise from teh rear hubs?

The handbrake mechanism on the 911's is all located within the rear disc. Remove the wheel, unbolt the caliper & use a cable tie to hold it just away from teh disc but without damageing the brake lines. There are a couple of screws on the face of the disc, undo these & remove the disc. You'll now be looking at the handbrake assy. If anything is loose etc it should be pretty obvious :)
