4.5 inch steel wheels chromed to swap for non-chromed

Post by stu »

I have a set of four chromed 4.5 inch steel wheels. My plan was to de-chrome these and get them powder-coated flat grey. I discover that de-chroming is not as cheap/simple as I imagined.

If there is someone out there with non-chromed 4.5 inch wheels who wishes they had a set of chromed wheels we have a potential deal.

These come with a decent set of US tyres. I don't care if your rims have tyres or not as I'll be tyring with Michelin XASs.

send me a PM

Just get them sandblasted, then powder coated.
Gets rid of the rust/loose stuff and leaves the powdercoat something to key to. I've done it before with no problems

Sure, that's always an option, but there's always the chance that someone is after a decent set of chromed steels...

i have a set of steel wheels, currently on my 68 911 - they have 185/70/15 tyres on which aren't the best.
Don't want a set of chromed ones as I have a set of deep 6s to go on, but if they are of any use to you, PM me. i will let them go for a nominal fee

Regards

You can dispite what others say have chrome shot blasted off.

I have done it and it does work..

I got a concreat place who use a very high pressure grit baster to do them £20 for all 5

They sink them in the sand and give them hell!!

You need to put them in the sand other wise they go shooting accross his yard at a far old pace.. :?
