Sorry to be naive but what are the X ratios.My 901 box revs out at 125and would like it to cruise at lower revs

X is a standard fifth gear for a 2 litre car. The ratios are 28:24. It may not be a lot longer than you've got since they were geared for about 130 in those days on taller tyres than we tend to use now. Cheers.
