I'm looking at buying a pair of SSI heat exchangers for my '72 911 and can get them for Approx £550 +vat but I need to order 5 sets. Alan will take one, GCS might take 2 which leaves one over. Is anyone interested in buying the last set for cost. The minimum order to get a discount is 5 sets AFAIK but if there are any more folk wanting these georgous examples of precision engineering it might be possible to work out a deal with them, though Alan.uk is really the man to ask.
I'd like to move quite fast as my poor car sounds more and more like one of it's VW brothers. I'm also sorely tempted by the M & K exhausts so if anyone else is we MIGHT be able to save a little on shipping etc. I must make it clear that I have not checked with them on thie last point so might well be talking Sh*te but it can't hurt to ask can it!
Is there anyone in the London area who has fitted a twin pipe back box as I'd really like to hear the volume before I splash the cash?

Hi Mike, I fitted one to Paul Brewsters car - it sounds fantastic, even more so above 5000 rpm ! But it was much too loud and now has a cap over one of the twin outlets. You NEED to hear this exhaust though!! I am sure Paull will post a reply but if not ring me in Willesden/Sunbury. Hope to see you at the Fairmile next week.
yes chris is right i fitted the twin in twin out R style exhaust and it does sound absolutely fantastic and the feels freer too !
i did cap one outlet with a cap that ben sent afterwards and that helps......at the time i was living in london but now in brighton and take the cap off alot as its not so built up here......with the cap on is great but with it off it is awesome........having said that picking up the kids from school only today and a dad pulled up to collect form footballl match in an enzo (im at the wrong school!) and that was louder....only just but it looked like a stock exhaust to me and he doesnt mind....with the cap you have the best of both worlds though....chris always enthuses about the sound and I "have" to blip the throttle upon entering the workshop !
all those seriously interested in a new set of SSI's delivered direct from the good folk of SSI, we now have a price.
£550 to Either My home address in SE london or Alan.uk's home address in Poole. That price incllude all import duty and taxes. The only extra is postage /courier fees from mine to yours, though pick up from mine and/or Alans is of course a possability.
I will need cash paid first so PM me for bank details etc as I don't feel like posting them on the WWW

Hi Mike
I'm new to the forum, but was made aware of your SSI group-buy by my brother.
I'm very interested in a set for my 1987 3.2 Carrera - are these available?
Also based in SE London (sunny Catford ) so can pickup from you direct if the deal is still on?
I'm afraid the order has been placed and delivery is imminent. Sorry to not be able to help at the moment. Obviously if we get another 5 together I'll let you know.
regards
Mike

No probs Mike, thanks for the quick update.
If the situation changes for any reason, please let me know
If your wanting a setup for a 3.2 do what I did, I bought a pair of bargain bischof 993 HE's from ebay they cost me about £50 for the pair in good condition. To work on a 3.2 you need to have the flanges flipped on one of the exchangers but thats not too hard. Then buy M&K's muffler for 3.6 conversions which cost me about £320 pound. In all it cost me £370 for the setup and I sold the old 3.2 system for £350 so I paid £20 to upgrade to 993 he's and dual in dual out M&K muffler.
