Door pocket refurb

The elasticated card door bins on my car are distorted due to previous owners using them to pull the door closed

Since they are going to be re-coverd anyway, I am thinking that they could be re-shaped back to original profile if they were wetted to a maleable state and reshaped before drying. They are effectively papier-mache after all! Anyone tried this, or have a better method?

Or, would they just disintegrate on contact with water?!

Hi Gavin,

I reshaped my (mildly) deformed pockets by holding them over a steaming kettle.

Guess it depends how deformed they are, but this worked for me.

Dont soak them in water I used the same method as above, and it worked quite well.
