Hello from Cheshire

Post by TimB »

New to DDK so a bit of background.
Got '73 RS recreation in 2000, outside had already been done by Gantspeed for previous owner, over last 5 years interior and engine top end rebuild have been the major work I have had done. Car was originally a '74 2.7 Carrera that was transplanted into a new 3.2 shell from the factory by Gantspeed back in 1995. Car has done trips to Nurburgring Oldtimer GP for last 5 years and all the Classic Le Mans.
New project is to build a recreation over the next couple of years of my ultimate car - the '73 RSR - I have the shell, and some of the bits not to mention a large hole in bank balance! I have questioned the sanity of this on a number of occasions but then you only come round once.
Look forward to getting involved on the forum and some runs etc...
Tim

PS, just escaped from the dullest conference in the world (a client requested I attend) and now drinking Strawberry Daquries and having a ball!

Welcome to DDK and a RSR would be really nice, one of my favourities is the 934RSR but I doubt if I could afford a 1:24 model of one!!

BTW Bootsy I always at a conference (at Gleneagles!). May check out the room rate for our Scottish trip

Hi Tim - funnily enough I've just been looking at the shell for your RSR project...
