I've been looking at a 2.4s which is fitted with rs flared arches and painted non original colour - how much do you think this effects the value by???

original colour orange, not sure which hopefully signal
was advised taht the arches and colour change could affect value by upto £10k - seems a lot?

Get a professional quote from someone who knows Porsches, for replacement rear quarters plus a bare metal re-spray. By the time new rubbers etc., are factored in, I doubt there would be much change from £10k! Given the prices now being asked for original 2.4S that might still make it a good buy, but probably not the bargain you were hopeing for.coolaking wrote:numbers match - waiting to see the authenticity certificate

I'd agree with Nick on this - a beautiful 2.4S in silver has joined the DDKnick-moss wrote:Are they RS or SC arches. If RS I would leave them as they are in period, in fact some 2.4Ss left the factory with RS arches.
NON factory period arches - such as SC / Turbo arches mentioned by Nick, are a different matter.
As for colour change - hmm - an original matching numbers car in the correct paint is always desirable - but if the colour change is a properly done change, with inside the engine bay, under the carpets etc. done properly - who cares as long as it's a nice colour
Be more concerned about the provenance of the car - it's history, originality in terms of mechanical and trim - paint can always be changed - and was regularly changed in days of old when painting cost a lot less than it does today

So an S or RS in immaculate condition, never damaged, fully matching numbers, all trim correct, good history is worth less than an unpainted car if it's colour has been changed by the factory?
Sorry - can't agree and nor would a couple of people on here with cars just like this

car is now dark blue (unsure if porsche colour), factory rs flares installed aftermarket but professionally
he says one of the factory options is a limited slip differential - excuse my ignorance but is this an original option from this year and does it add value

P. In that particular case I could not disagree with you. I was talking in general rather than specific terms. K.pmjt wrote:veryporky wrote:Nevertheless for a car that is top wack the colour should be original and of a desireable hue IMO. Orange is right there.

Who said anything about the factory? I was just talking in general terms.
