Door Hinge Bolts

Post by 1972_911t »

Whats the correct hinge bolts for a 72? My car originally had 12 point spline drive bolts that fit inside a small recess in the hinge. When I ordered some replacements I got large hex bolts that wont fit the recess. According to the cataloge upto 71 has pan head screws but 72 and on had hex bolts. Are the pan head ones still available and what should my car have?

Pan head screws are avaliable from Roger Bray, but if you have an Alfast outlet near to you they are about 10 pence each.

My 72 has 12 point bolts, as has 2 other 72 cars that I have had/worked on.

Ive ordered the 71 part number, I presume its a miss print in the catalogue or that they had a load of 71 hinges left over to use up in 72.
