Tank guard

Post by peter stey »

I do some classic rallying in my 1973 coupe, and the backroads are so uneven that after each rally I need to restore the gas tank as it hits the ground. The ride hight is not that low (approx 24.5'' measured from the fender lip in front), but I am going to raise the car a few cm. As this might not be enough, I have been searching for tank guards but have been unable to find something. Is there a company making these, or would it be a special order from some company specialising in rally preparation.

Thanks,

Peter

Neil Bainbridge at BS Motorsports fabricated the one on my RS from aluminium for the previous owner. Judging by the marks on it it works.
