ok got me one of these but it didn't come with a idiots guide of any sort and boy do i need one :roll:

anyone got a instruction book/handbook or any information at all about this car, which i could either buy or take a copy of

eg, what position should the gear stick be in when you start the car ?

Helen, have you been on Sportomatic.org? Lots of stuff on there, they may have a manual available for download. You can start it in P or N, makes no odds AFAIK.

The PCGB used to have a Sportomatic Register ran by Peter Cook - don't know if it's still active but the email address was :

sporto@porscheclubgb.com

might be worth a try - or call the Club office ?

Would love to come for a ride in this car when you've mastered it, Helen: I've never been in a Sporto before, but from what I gather they are good fun. I know Phil (PMJT) really rates his early one :) .

Also don't forget Bones is a Sporto driver Helen, and he is a mine of info on them.

just found a sales brochure on one as well...... I can send them both for you to look at in detail ...

it does say in the front if you have just bought this porsche then you have time to read this on how to drive it...

Hi if you have any problems with the sporto Email me or give me a call you can use as a normal g/box or use d4 I prefere to change and DDC with the gear leaver just for fun. Regards Berny.
