Lovely 8) What are the brackets welded between the inner wings and windscreen panel where the bonnet hinges normally go? Is the whole bonnet lift off on clips?

Yes its the Old Yella, rejuvenated.

The car was initially built as a race car, so has a remoable fireproof bulkhead, foam alloy fuel tank, front mounted oil tank etc. etc.

Mike wants a much closer replica done, which will cost an absolute fortune. This car has various compromises: Turbo brakes, aluminium cased, 3.5 MFI/slide throttle motor, GRP front wings and (removable) bonnet.

Nick, looking great and sounds like it's being built with serious intent, will it go racing again? How light will it be? Is that the Lime Green you were looking for? Look forward to seeing how it evolves.

Yes it probably would. :lol: That actual colour is '74 Lime Green, the same as Nigel Watkin's 74 Carrera 2.7.
Was just thinking that these are 930 wings instead of the 2.8 wings innit.
They are Turbo steel wings at the back GRP at the front.
How light will it be?
Not sure, maybe 900 - 950 Kg? Its got lots of GRP and aluminium parts.

Its being built as a trackday toy.
