Post by Racecraft76 »

Hi I am looking at this 1.7 car in London. What do you think?

Pictures of it are here http://s105.photobucket.com/albums/m206/Racecraft76/

Whats it worth? or should i keep looking?

The panel fit looks a little uneven :| I'd want to go over it in the flesh first :)

This post has been viewed quite a few times so far.

I take it by everyones silence that it maybe should be left alone?

Honestly, if it was me, I'd leave it alone. But to be sure you'd need to give it the once over in person. I few too many rust bubbles for me. Also the battery tray area isn't original, difficult to tell from the pics, could be hiding a quick repair.

I think I saw that you mentioned you had a budget of £4.5K. That was my original budget too. After spending some time looking I quickly upped that. I could see that every £4K car I looked at needed and least £3K spent on it to get it to the standard I wanted. Worth thinking about.

I still favour the one on ebay at the moment. It's not far from me so I could go and have a look for you this weekend. I'll only charge you a beer :) I'm only free on Saturday though. Let me know. I'm sure you'd be able to get this for around £5K. The rubber bumpers can be back dated if they're a problem for you.

Let me know what you think, PM if you like. Stephen

The yellow car has been around a while and was restored sometime back. I have contact details on one of the previous owners if any use to you.
