Ello folks.

Post by Neatbeard »

As you can tell from this post i'm a newbie to this site, but I usually hang out in the VZi forums as i'm a VeeDubber at heart. A few names here look familiar to me though.

I currently have 2 beetles, both modified (one heavily!), a bay window camper, my daily driver **cough** focus (ducks for cover!), and the reason i'm 'ere - a Covin 911 Turbo replica.

As I own a replica 911 (a late style one at that) I dunno how much of a welcome i'll get here...?

I've always wanted a 911 and at the moment funds are really, REALLY tight, but the Covin came up for sale and I thought "...fcuk it, why not?..."

The Covin is gona need a complete rebuild and i'm here for some inspiration. Most of the people who own these kits make them look as Porsche as possible, using as many original Porsche bits as they can, spraying them white, red, black or dark metallic blue or green. Sticking in original Porsche full leather interiors, etc. But I want to build something for me, something a bit different. With that in mind i'm going to "play" with the kit and hopefully build something that you guys can appreciate...? Long shot I know, but its worth a try!!

So there you have it, thats the reason i'm here. Please be gentle with me!

LOL!! Yeah I doubt they'd want me!

At the moment the Covin has bog standard VW type 3 running gear, discs front and back and a **whispers** 1600 Beetle lump out back. Its built on the Covin space frame chassis rather that a type 3 floor[an though so its the more "desireable" kit. Its gona need loads of work but I intend to dtrip it completley and rebuild everything. I've had it for a few months now and not started it yet as i'm finishing my camper van and about to move house as well!

Now promise you guys won't laugh.........................................
