New Project

Post by cal669 »

My friend has just aquired a 914 and asked me to help with restoration. I have restored cars in the past (Sunbeam Imp Sport) but have no experience with 914's. This one I have found out has previously been raced and has a race prepared engine. I have also been told that the front wings are "flat" level with bonnet. Is this usual or just a one off? Any help/ advice would be appreciated such as part suppliers for for suspension bushes etc. Thanx, Cal

Hello
I think the flat wings were a bit of a fad in the states, I'm not aware of any factory cars with those, some more knowledgeable 914'ers should be able to confirm that for you

As for suspension bushes etc you could try the following places

http://www.mittelmotor.de/english/startenglish.htm
http://www.rogerbrayrestoration.com/

or if your friend is feeling flush...
http://www.elephantracing.com/

Hope this helps :)
