Aaarrghh mot failure

Post by kevster »

the 914 failed the mot today but not too bad - mostly small stuff but the nearside caliper failed. Anyone got a spare caliper? (74 2.0).

If not i'll trawl the forums as I know there has been a few postings on this, I think theres somewhere up north that does exchanges. It looks like it isnt that old but obviously not brilliant quality.

Bummer, these really do seem to be the real weak link in the whole car: you often here stories of even quite fresh calipers giving trouble.

I can highly recommend Classicar (in the back of PorschePost): they did the TR ones: they arrived back on the day promised, as quoted, as new, and well packaged. Excellent all round. Obviously if you end up going this route you ought to get both done. At least they look pretty, so give a pychological improvement as well  .

If you need their number give me a shout, and I'll dig it out.

There's a pair for sale on ebay. Nothing to do with me, I just remember seeing them the other day. I hope you get it sorted
