Gripper LSD for 901 box

Never used - purchased for a car I'm now not going to restore so no longer required - I understood that only 50 or so of these were ever made - if you have an early car with a 901 and want an LSD this is the only way to go.

forgive the ignorance - do you need to split the box and can it be fitted insitu?

It can be fitted in situ, but make sure the pre-load/backlash is measured before removing your diff. I am running a 40% gripper diff and I don't think you will need anymore than that.

The opinion of several "specialists" at Husborne Crawley is that it is for a Fine spline 915 gearbox - i.e later SC......

I'm confused as when I bought it from Jim Avus, it was sold as being for a 901 box?

Perhaps I need to call Jim to clarify....

Aha, so this is for a 915. Cool. Phil, I am interested if and when it can be put on my car. I have a 915/44 gearbox, and a LSD was listed as M220 either 80% or 40% Limited slip differential.

I presume that it is for 40% and knowing Jim Avis' reputation of having raced carrera 3.0 in the olden days, it might be compatible.

I need to make a few quick enquieries but whilst i do this, would you mind pm me of some price indication?

HI P to fit the diff correctly the gearbox will require stripping and the diff setting , bearing pre-load and backlash and not in situ'. (seen it don' and had to repair it)
