Oil cooling/connection pipes.

Can anyone help please with the tech specification for the rubber pipes and connectors which are used in the 72 (and I imagine several other years?) oil cooling system. I need to be able to describe them to a hydraulics shop to get new ones made up (or a possible source for a replacent set already made up). I already have the trombone and side pipes, it's all the connections I need.

I made up my own pipes in a couple of places on Ferryman's 72 2.4S and they cost the same as the genuine part from Porsche! The connections are M20 and cost about £25 each.

Thanks Nick. I will cost them out from Porsche. I just assumed that making them up would be less expensive.

Nick, when you say

are you referring the metal connectors at the end of the pipes, or the two 90 degree angle pieces that screw to the oil filter console. I need one of the 90 degree angle bits.

I got my connections and pipes from Think Automotive. The connections are M30 x 1.5 (sorry not M20 as I mentioned above, the old memory isn't what it used to be)

M30 x 1.5 90 degree = £32.72
M30 x 1.5 straight = £9.52
Hose 3/4" push pit = £9.66 / metre

I have some pipes laid about surplus to requirements, one of which i am sure has a 90 degree fitting on the end - incidentally i have just had a similar problem with the pipe on my car - the connection on the end was too small for the oil tank I had bought.
Solution ? off to Pirtek, (hydraulic hoses and fittings0 they matched the nut to the oil tank, identified as French Metric by them - then had a new end crimped onto my original pipe at a total cost of £10 !!

Popping down Hypo Hose tomorrow to see what they also have. Might just get them to make up a new set of oil lines, lets see what it costs first

Doesd anyone knwo the size of the union which screws into the back of the 72 oil filter housing.

The outter thread is for the M30 x 1.5 ends of the oil pipe but what is the inside?
