I'm having some adventures with the TR4. Sent the gearbox off for fixing the jumping out of third problem. That's fine: £175 + Vat inc. labour: very fair. Unfortunately it looks as though the overdrive is near scrap  . Very, very wierd as it was working perfectly and silently. Anyway they've quoted a further £475 + Vat for that. Not sure what to do at the moment, suffice to say I'm getting them to sort the gearbox, but hang fire on the O/D just in case I can find another one. Luckily the G/box can be fully built seperately from the O/D, so at least that will be one area resolved.

Old cars, don't you just love 'em?

Anyway, it might make it, if not I'll have to come in the modern ....

Sonja, Emily & I will be there (eventually, given the A24 post 5pm).
I'm guessing I only need to buy 2 tickets...?

Hopefully, but with the Ghia too.
The Ghia on its own is too uncomfortable for 3 & the S still has those daft race belts.
Worst case is we turn up in the Passat, unless I can scrounge Dad's '03 cabrio :)

Can I let you know Monday Viv? Just need to get sign-off on the day off (shouldn't be a problem), but don't want to presume and my boss isn't back until Monday.

Anyone local fancy putting a Northerner up for the night?

Okay Viv - one Northerner here coming down - would turning up in the 993 cause a problem?

Viv, I'll be there.

Ian, you are welcome to stay with me if you don't mind a bit of a building site!

It's not the car that's the problem, it's the driver

OK, I've got a free 'pass' from Mrs Bootsy and can jump on a train early Friday evening and possibly meet up with somebody to catch a lift.

One clause - I need a bed to lay my little weary head down on after a few beers :drunken:

I'll be out of your hair early Saturday as I'll be getting a lunchtime train back to Norfolk to join the family for the BH weekend.

Any takers

Peter - that's very kind thanks - I'll drop you an email at work.

And for Martin's benefit, I'll come in the early car.
