Momo boss

Post by Dr_Danger »

Can anyone suggest where can I get a Momo Boss for my Prototipo on '78 SC? I spent half a day ringing different retailers and it was out of stock everywhere.

Duncan - I only have hubs for the early (pre-'75) 911's. You need model number 0231.

Have you tried Demon Tweeks ?

Unbelievable, I can not find anyone who has one in stock. Tried almost everywhere I could think of. The only one left is the german ebay one, but I was rather hoping to get it by this weekend as I'm planning a big trip.

Porscheshop.co.uk has some bosses for sale, I don't think they are momo ones but they say it should fit. £46+Vat plus the horn is separate £16+vat :(

Maybe I can help in the short term. Not a million miles away from Fort William either.

Andy.....was this the boss I removed at Le Mans from my RS.?????
It was a 1978 date stamped Momo wheel I removed and associated hardware in favour of a real RS wheel.

Dr.Danger.....If this boss fits you can borrow it until your own shows up. I do not want to sell as I quite like the Momo and may use it in another car sometime but it's doing nothing at the moment.

Regards
Mike

Duncan they are always coming up on eBay, I paid £25 for mine on there. Keep your eyes open and offer the seller £35 buy it now when the next one comes on if you are in a rush, most people will sell small stuff quickly for a sensible buy it now in my experience. If I see one I will mail you.

Mike - that boss won't fit Duncan's steering column.

Model 0230 fits 356B/C + 911/912 models up to 7/'74

He needs 0231 which fits 911 models from8/'74 - '89.

The date on the wheel is unrelated to the boss.

Duncan, there is one on the dot com here for $12 with 2 days left. You will need to email him to check it's the later version, but he says it will do 74-83 so should be an 0231. He will only ship by DHL so that will be a little pricey, but quick. The whole lot should cost you under £30 landed if he sends it as a gift, he has it listed in some numbnuts category so could be your lucky day...
