K & N filters advice please

Post by JonnyG »

I want to let the motor breathe better for a few more BHP, so thinking of taking the filter housing off and replacing with the two seperate K & N units on each carb bank. I have webbers on a 2.2T. Anyone got experience of these, where to buy etc, they look straightforward to fit, or indeed other suggestions

thanks to those that know

Think you can get them from Porscheshop - should be easy enough to get hold of. I believe they make a difference - I had them fitted but at a later service the mechanics replaced teh filter with a standard one and I didn't notice for ages - D'oh!

I've fone the 'ghetto cup' modification - basically you chop off most of the aibox housing - just leaving a square and the clips so you can still attach teh air filter. That *feels* faster - it's certainly louder - and free!

I look pretty young but I'm just backdated yeah

D'oh just realised you're on the earlier engine so I'm talking rubbish - ghetto cup on relevant on a 3.2 carrera

thanks Sladey, took off the filter completely and it makes a glorious noise, as long as it is as effective at getting rid of the fine dust I'll do it I think
