Do a search of Pelican, they have loads of threads with lots of advice on the best way to do it. This is quite a good one to start you off !!!

Doing it by hand is a heck of a job. What finish are you after? (anodised is the original finish). It will be easier to get them acid dipped to remove all the paint and anodise first. You could also just to have them blasted, but I think the acid dipping is much kinder on the wheel and also to the person that has to polish them. They will then need to be polished before being re-anodised and then detailed or just polished and detailed. The best wheels also have the up stand machined to remove any nicks/curb marks.

I had a look, that's the way for me I think, when I work out how to mask them exactly before painting, looks reasonably ok to do, good luck
