Fender bender on the way back from the Cotswolds Rally last month, engine lid not a problem but I can't find the bars that run between the over-riders anywhere
Where can you get them? Don't know.
However, here's a shot of a '73 car wearing similar bars.
I didn't think they were Porsche parts when I saw them but I may be wrong. The single bar at the top, slightly larger diameter and bent at the ends is the more common version (of which I haven't got a good detail shot). I've always assumed the single bar is appropriate if you wanted to protect an ally lid or suchlike (though presumably the bar would seemingly offset any weight saving).

The double bars came from California and screw straight through the overriders , single larger diameter bar is a Porsche part still available abt £150 , bad news u may need short rubber overiders to mount............
the rear bumper bars on the irish green 911 are made by amco. For the front there was a single bar unit available. I do have one for the rear if you are interested but they need to be rechromed if you want to have them look perfectly. Unfort. I do not live in the UK but in the Netherlands.
Hey Alan,
I've got one of them in the garage. Took it off my 912 and it's pretty much perfect as far as I can remember. If you are interested I can take a pic and email it to you (can't figure out the posting pic thing). I'm in Dublin btw.

Hi Derek,
I have tried in the past to post pictures of the porkys and maybe I'm just plain stoopid but never manage to do it..
I'd be happy to mail you a picture if you like?
It's black, short saddle, straight bars and it's the american version so has the nice tank. It has the clutch conversion and runs with a remote oil filter (off a 2cv!) and goes like the clappers!
Thanks for the interest.
