Haven't seen any details just heard it mentioned in a forum somewhere , supposed to be a good 'un .
If i come accross it again i'll get some more info.
Here it is :
If you have read the most recent issue of Excellence, you might have
seen the article on the fabled 914-6 Sportomatics.
My car is a
beautiful restoration with all genuine NOS porsche parts. The current
motor in the car is a 2.5L porsche motor, but I still have the
original motor. If you have any questions or would like to see
pictures please email me or call me at 949-735-0744. This is
definately a perfect chance to own one of the rarest porsches ever
made.
Thanks

I know a guy in the north-east of Austria who did a 914-4 Sportomatic conversion. The owner of the car has a serious problem with his leg - as a result of an excident - and so he called a well known Porsche specialist to do this conversion. Toni took a 911 Sporto tranny and made some parts to make it fit to the 2.0 4-cyl engine. After some troubles with the setup he managed to make it work perfectly.

Excellence magazine suggests that a couple were made at the factory though

I have a TÜV specifications sheet (federal technical inspection from German), that also says 914-4 Sportomatic
and a german guy who knows nearly everything about vintage Porsche cars told me once, that there was a factory part, which allows to fit a sportomatic tranny to a 1.7 engine

No doubt fitted with a calendar in place of the speedo

Excellent pics - and excellent cars. Was a fantastic event. We were the idiots with the green chevrolet Airdiction van that caused so much interest with customs!
Does anyone do the flatnose wings as a repro aftermarket mod?
