Electric window motor

Hi there. I'm looking to replace a very weak o/s electric window winder motor. The Bosch number is 0130-820-001 which I think is discontinued. Can I get it re-conditioned anywhere or get a new or good second hand one?
If you have any ideas please let me know.

Hi John without wishing to suggest a sucking eggs exercise, (and I'm sure you've already checked), but it's usually worth checking how much work the motor is being asked to do.

Are the runners lined up, is the glass trying to bend anything on the way up/down, are all of the pivots and any rack/pinion clean and lubed, and is the wiring to the motor perfect. If in doubt get a meter on the motor's power feed as it's operating, and just check the voltage in, and the earth as well.

I know in the past with slow motors, I've been amazed at how hard they are working: often to the extent of running a bit slow, only to find that the window is practically seized into the runners and barely moveable by hand.

I'm struggling with mine too.
The passenger side motor now won't budge up or down (despite previously being pretty pacey).
I've replaced all switches, checked wiring, fuses, relays etc. etc.
I now think a sticking switch may have burnt the motor.
Still, no time to resolve that now. If I come to a toll booth in France (requiring payment through the passenger side window) I'm just going to smash through the barriers and run for it...

Anyway, I've already told Paul that I'm packing my long bendy arm for reaching out of the sunroof and over to the Troll

BTW, according to my brother a lot of the tolls now have RH booths for the U.K drivers

. Not sure if he's right: TBH he struggles to remember his name and the difference between left and right, so he could be wrong

Sorry to hijack your thread with frivalous banter John, we're all getting de-mob happy prior to Classic Le Mans.
I'll let you know if I track down a new window motor or someone who can rewind them (or find another cure).
Good Luck with your efforts, it's no fun having sluggish windows.

When I got my 911 one of the motors always seized up in the damp weather. I took the motor out and undid the screws which freed off the motor, then put a thin smear of grease round the putput shaft, its been fine for 5 years since. If you have early electric windows (mines a 1971 2.4S) then they changed the motors shortly afterwards. You can fit later motors, but will require the lifters as well.

Thanks for all your feedback. I've stripped down the motors, cleaned up the commutator and brushes, lubricated and re-assembled. Quite a fiddle getting the motor bushes/springs back in place - used small elastic bands to hold them back while I replaced the shaft. Then cut the rubber bands and removed them. Gears box and lift mechanism has also been cleaned up and very lightly greased. Next step is to make sure that the window glass and guides are properly lined up to minimise resistance.
Looks like the drivers side had suffered some water damage - rusty inside the plastic casing and around the motor - poor/damaged window seals I guess.
