door seals on 356 rep

Hi all - I'm new to this forum but have been reading posts for a while. I've just bought the 356 carrera coupe rep from fellow ddker which is an M and W car. There are a few jobs to do to get it complete - one is to sort out the door seals.

There are seals around the tops of the doors (around the window) on the body, but there is no lip to fasten a seal to below the waistline if you know what I mean. Is this a common thing with other replicas, I've thought about riveting on some ali L section and putting a seal on this but wondered if anyone had come up with a neater solution.

Have a look on www.woolies-trim.co.uk they do various types of self adhesive seal which you buy by the length and is what most replicas use.

Some nice easy jobs will result in an awesome car, I wish I'd bought it myself but I'm too far in with my WRX 1303 cab..

I use the Woolies stuff on my coupe. It's great and they're right on my doorstep... which is nice.

Thanks for the tips guys - looks like woolies will be very useful. I'm sure I'll be asking for a few more pointers over the next few months. Cubist - is yours an M and W car or a real porker? - I've been told they have only produced 3 coupes from the moulds.

Hello mate...good purchase! such a bitch that I had to sell it and it hurt to let it go soo cheap so please make good use of it

regarding the seals I took the ali bits off as i thought they looked real ugly and made it a bit obviuos that it was a fakey! Upon Ricola's advice I was gunna copy the way that chesil attach their seals to the speedsters so try to have a look at how they do it!! they are mounted to the door instead of the body so looks much cleaner.

Hi Nige - yep I'd noticed that you'd had your eye on it and was pretty anxious that you'd beat me to it. Your 912 looks real nice - I'm surprised nobody's snatched your hand off - Good luck with the sale.
