1980 martini 3.3 turbo help needed!

I am looking to invest in one of these cars . Could anyone please advise of any really sore points on these models.
Also how many where produced this year, and is there any way of telling if its an original martini or a white turbo with stripes on it. approx valuation 97k with service history?

According to Peter Morgan:

"The Martini Turbo was never a series production model or even a special edition, but the stripes could be ordered as an option (M42) for Grand Prix White models, whether mainstream 911 SCs or Turbos. The suspension and engine were as on the regular 1977 model year Turbos. Of approximately 200 Turbos delivered worldwide, half went to the US."

So make sure its a 1977 model first then ask for proof that it was originally GP White with an M42 option.

Gmund cars have a 911 3.0 Turbo in Martini colours for £ 19,995, which I believe (but I'm ready to be shot down here) is not a genuine Martini.

suggest you get the engine/ vin no. for it - I don't think they did a 3.3 turbo martini but I may be wrong.....

Just to add to Nick's point, I saw one at a Porsche Club track day a couple of years ago at Goodwood, with a full leather interior in Martini colours and was told that it was only ever a special order, not production. I now wish I'd taken a picture, it was a very lairy interior with those big, squarish seat pads. Anyone got any pics?

Mitch, that car was on display at the PCGB festival at Brands too.I have some shots of it on my home PC, will try to remember to post from there.
