Another 40 mile drive today. After some carb fettling it ran better than ever. Only downside, oil pressure went right down on the way home. Then it came back. Then it went. Idiot light flickered once. Thats it. I left it for 10 minutes before putting it back in the garage. Oil pressure was great again.

Did the pressure fall on trailing revs (after high pressure)? With on / off pressure id be checking the oil pressure valve pistons are floating freely in the bores & not sticking.

Few little jobs to sort and then into the garage tomorrow for servicing, gearbox oil change, brake overhaul and some other issues to sort

Didn’t do anything to the car as such, still haven’t washed it since the Euro trip! But I did repaint, rewire and stick some posters up on one side of the garage.
Just got to do the other side now!

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
After a successful 200 mile round trip on saturday I have now put roughly 300 miles on the fresh engine.
Not happy with oil pressure so I've ordered a 26mm cb performance replacement.
As i had a tiny oil leak from the screw in plug behind the engine mount bracket I decided to drain the oil, remove the pump, remove the oil pressure valve (no sticky piston. It slid out by itself) and let everything dry before i reassemble when the new bits arrive.
No sparkly bits in the oil at all. Haven't checked the filter as i left it draining in the can.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Fitted new front strut bodies due to the originals having worn spindles such that I couldn’t achieve the correct wheel bearing adjustment. I guess it’s not bad after 203k miles. I went for Koni Sports dampers which I haven’t dialled in yet, over just driven them for a short test to make sure that nothing fell off. it will be interesting to see how they change when I adjust them. They feel quite compliant, nice, so all good for another 200k…….

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
A nice call from my mechanic....
Yellow car ready to pick up.
- New brake lines, discs, pads, calipers and brake lights now working well (seemed to be a pressure issue with the master cylinder making them lazy and sometimes on all the time)
- Gearbox oil change
- Oil and filters change
- Tune up
- and a list of other bits.
Cost a bit for sure but he assures me it feels like a different car.
Will pick it up early next week and see!
