Visiting Dane looking for events in the Oxford area?

Post by Wind73 »

Hi guys,

I just arrived in Oxford to spend some weeks with my wife, who is a visiting professor at the university. I have driven here in my newly aquired 1967 912 Targa, and I would love to meet up with the local aircooled community. Are there any meet-ups, cars’n coffee or similar in the area, that I would be aware of?
I saw something on Instagram about an open house at Karmann Konnection on the east coast - I was considering going there. Are there any other events, that I should look out for?

Thank you in advance for your help!

You're not that far from C&M so worth looking at What's On and having a visit there https://caffeineandmachine.com/whats-on-the-hill/

Also Bicester heritage is local. Events do tend to sell out though

How many weeks are you here for? There are events later that might be of interest.

Classic Motor Hub in Bibury is also worth a visit. Plus if you are a fan of Harry's Garage you can drive his standard test roads which are all in this area.

Oxford has some nice and relaxed surrounding meets.

The Six Bells at Warborough is a short distance from the city. That meet happens every second Tuesday from April-September. The next meet will be on the 14th.

Millets Farm is also local and has a a meet on the first Thursday, so unfortunately passed.

Hooky Classics meet is the second Sunday of the month from 12th April 2026 through to October 2026 at Saltway Farm, Broughton Road, Banbury OX16 9UL.

As already suggested, a drive out to Bibury is really nice. Clarkson's pub, The Farmers Dog, would be on the way if keen to check off the list. Loads and loads of other great local pubs too. The Three Horseshoes is close to his, even had his beer last year, and much more peaceful.

The event you mention will almost certainly be modern 911`s

BUT - If you are considering Karman Connection you should also take in PR Services Ltd at Dunlop Garage, London Road, Billericay, Essex, CM12 9HP
PRS is on your route to Karmann and is mainly Air Cooled 356`s

PRS Website will give you an insight into what they get up to
