Nice one James.23e Heure wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2026 4:21 pm So… I completely blew up the original budget and got something a little more expensive.
I can only afford to keep it 2 or 3 years but I figured what the heck, life is too short.
Collected from down near Bath Friday lunchtime and then spent best part of the weekend hooning around the valleys in Wales.
GT4 has already had 1001 write ups so nothing I can add to the hyperbole already out there.
Suffice to say I was grinning like a Cheshire Cat all weekend.
It’s a drivers car, and blindingly quick.
I’d still have rathered be able to hang on to the RS, and if I had known my family situation was going to change I would have not sold the GT and kept that.
But this car is going to be a huge amount of fun for a while, and my lad can now stop asking “But what are we going to do road trips in now?”

Can't take budgets with you when.....
Enjoy!

Re: 25k to stay in P car ownership
I bought a handy device (I think from rennline) that remembers your settings for start/stop, suspension, exhaust from the last time you were in the car. Saves you having to press the button every time you get in
The simple things you see are all complicated

Apparently if you swap the battery from AGM to a normal fụckoff huge Bosch it defeats the start/stop. Which I also hate.

You can deactivate the start/stop manually with the button.
Mark’s rennline gadget sounds like it could even be set to default to deactivated

Yep - I’ve also got a 718 GT4. The device remembers what buttons you did and didn’t press and they are still pressed/unpressed the next time you get in. So switch the start/stop off once and that’s it unless and until you ever change it. Same for suspension, exhaust and auto-blip button
It’s saved me a lot of swearing that I’ve been able to use elsewhere.
