Paid a visit to Nick Fulljames in the week....

...engine has been completely stripped, cleaned and checked as necessary, including dismantling of the GT3 oil pump etc, fortunately all good....

Image

Image

Image

...Nick has taken the opportunity to upgrade to superior ACL race bearings which weren't originally available...

Image

....distributor drive gear and bearing both being replaced with 3.2 items....

Image

...old bearing looking the worse for wear! :? ....

Image

....engine now built back up with cam timing done and just final assembly to go...

Image

Image

....Gary Cook is in the process of draining all oil, oil tank out and cleaned etc. Oil will be drained from all oil lines and front cooler to be flushed although it's unlikely thermostat opened so should be safe but again zero chances will be taken.

Engine should be complete in the next day or so and hopefully back in the car and running next week

Good work - can’t believe how much damage it did in 30 seconds running

Stay strong you'll soon be the envy of DDK. 💪🏼 The stress along the way will make the end-result all the more rewarding.

Also, I will have my own distributor and drive gear to do battle with soon. Your experience will make me all the more careful.

Thanks Mark although it was just a very brief steady run along a small country road so a little premature to say, however........I think it's going to be f@%king epic! The initial feeling, torque, power deliver, and noise is incredible and I can't wait to give it a proper thrash. Nick Fulljames was super happy and just as excited as I was!

And for those who suggested you can't set-up and drive an RSR engine with RSR cams and slide injection on the road..... 'I beg to differ!' 8)
