Thanks Mike, much appreciated and would be nice to know.Mike911scrs wrote: ↑Sat Jan 24, 2026 4:38 pm I take it the engine is still a 3.0Lt Carrera engine at base,
if so there are 3 diffrent Disi' drives and also the drive gear on the crank has 2 types depending on the year and who did the recall on it in it's earler life,
I would not say it is the disi' suppliers fault,
I will find the info and send it down to you.
regards mike
....I don't think anything was missed or overlooked James, not that could be reasonably expected, and there was nothing to suggest anything was out and it's not like the dizzy was force fitted. The fact is the distributor was sold as an early part but had a later ring gear on it although it will be interesting to see what Mike sends through regarding spec and recalls etc.

My experience was tighter running clearance (backlash in distributor pinion) and higher quality parts. Documenting these changes is important for future work. The 930 pinion is larger than the 901. Porsche has always changed things enough that updating and backdating are difficult at best. We’ve been down the same journey you’re on now.
