Re: New Year - old question... Insurance
I have been with Hagerty since I bought my car 9 years ago. They introduced my to DDK back then. Never had to claim yet and always seemed a reasonable premium to pay.
However, last year I called them to say my car was under restoration about a month before renewal. They said it wasn’t worthwhile cancelling the policy for the remaining period. I found out a few months later that they had auto-renewed the policy. I was away on business so hadn’t checked my bank statements etc but thought it was wrong for them to have done this when we had discussed the situation a month before renewal. Anyway, I raised this with them and am waiting to hear back once they have reviewed the recording of our original conversation.

Hi Andy, please can I ask who you used for breakdown? Thanks, HugoLightweight_911 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 02, 2026 1:41 pm this doesn't include breakdown insurance as that was cheaper to organise separately (£120 UK/Europe for all 3 cars).

Just dropped the RAC for UK recovery, price jumped £70.
Went back like a yo-yo to AA, same cover, £100 less.
These two companies never try to keep you, just try to screw you.
For overseas breakdown always RAC, Boxster is too old now for the AA to cover, ok with RAC, but costs far more, but good cover as I found out 3 years ago.

Re: New Year - old question... Insurance
RAC upped their charges ridiculously 3 yrs ago so I ditched 37 yrs loyalty and joined AA. They left me stranded for 3 hrs on a motorway with a puncture, and in the end I threw caution to the wind and changed it myself. So this year I’m with Britannia - enthusiastically recommended by some of the Frazer Nash club members I met on tour abroad. I’ve not had reason to test them yet..

Classicline again for me, do all mine with agreed valuation and all at sensible money I'd say. Even include TIPEC or Porsche club organise trackdays.
If you're a TIPEC member the valuation is free but they rely on what you think your car is worth.

Re: New Year - old question... Insurance
Spoke with Howdens today after hearing somebody got a competitive multi Porsche quote from them and they've come back with a very good policy underwritten by KGM - all agreed values, Uk and Euro breakdown, variable excesses from car to car from £100 to £450 etc.
They came back with a very competitive quote of £820 for all of my cars so am considering them also now.

Re: New Year - old question... Insurance
. My multi-classic insurance is with KGM (& has been for the past few years) - arranged via Heritage/Norton Insurance ...
