I like this spectrum range, the wider the better.
Your level of detail is educational and sets a great level for the rest of us to aim for lol.

We paint sampled the green of the new rear Bilstein B6 (standard) dampers, had a tin of paint made up and then sprayed the struts in the same colour. Despite "John Deere green" being the suggested colour, apparently there's been 8 different shades of this over the years due to different chemical compositions etc so that wasn't going to work if we wanted an exact match.

Thanks for the kind words. I'll keep posting as we progress but at the moment we're waiting for Nick Fulljames to finish fitting new bearings to the rear trailing arms on his jig. However this key step towards a rolling chassis is proving somewhat frustrating as it's been several weeks - almost two months now in fact - since they were dropped off with him and we've currently no update from him as to when they will be done.

A quick visit to Greatworth this afternoon to drop off some Christmas gifts - not much progress to report for reasons mentioned in my previous post but I did notice that Joe has fabbed-up the Heinzmann pull handle bracket on the driver's seat belt rail, same as I saw on an RSR in the Porsche Museum last month:

...having previously trial fitted the lightweight crossmembers, original Scheel GT sliders and restored Scheel 300 Racing seat:

Looks like he's trial fitted the handbrake assembly as well but this will need the US spec hand throttle and heater levers and knobs changing for ROW ones when we refurbish the whole assembly (small black ball for hand throttle and red lozenge for heater for ROW):

Merry Christmas everyone - let's see if we can get this project finished in 2026!
Matt

Fantastic Matt !!
You already have the engine and gearbox, there is still some bodywork to be done, as you previously mentionned, but most of it is already finished !
Keep going, I really believe you'll manage to finish your car in 2026
Merry Christmas to you Matt

So the rear arms arrived back from Nick Fulljames on Monday which means we can get started on building up the rolling chassis once the remaining shell work has been completed on the rotisserie:

There was some schutz still on the rear tunnel, behind the crossmember and also the chassis legs which all needed to be removed:

In addition, the floor was a bit beaten up so Neil's pulled out the dents where he can and filled those down the centre:
Next we need to close up the drain holes:

Just like the restorations of 0495:

0538:

and 1195:

We're leaving the fuel pump bracket on for now as it was also present on 0538 and 1195 post restoration despite being surplus to requirements with the twin fuel pumps in the luggage compartment - it is increasingly apparent that very few modifications were undertaken to the shell by the Sports Department in period beyond fitting the wider arches:
