I believe there's someone in Poland who does a good job of refacing/ repairing VDO instruments and reasonably quickly too (unlike REAP!) but I can't find them via Google search.

That's probably Waldemar (Waldek) Kortas at Classic Auto Clock - I think he used to work for North Hollywood Speedo.
