Kevin Morfett - Historika. RIP

Post by Bootsy »

Sad to read the news that Kevin Morfett has passed

Anybody involved in classic Porsches over the last 30 plus years will have known Kevin.

Over the last years he's been know for Historika

I first met Kevin when I was looking to sell an early 911 in 96/97 and had met him many times since. A good guy.

That's a shock to hear. :(

I first met Kevin ~ 35 yrs ago when I went to look at an early 911 he was selling & had quite a bit of contact with him over the years.

I last saw him a couple of years ago & we spent a few hours chatting & reminiscing.

On a side note, I still think that one of the best Carrera RS restorations I've seen was a Tangerine one that he personally restored (long before he started Historika) back in the late '80's.

RIP Kevin.

Yes sad to hear. I did hear he wasn’t well a few months ago

I think the Tangerine RS (a Lightweight?) was still with him when I met him the first time - he had 3 other RS In a barn which needed a bit of work - £25k each at the time

Well that's very sad, and yep a good guy. Didn't really know him other than to say hello when I bought the Martini RSR in from the US. Wanted to run it at the early 911 Porsche day at Silverstone and the day before discovered the rear 11's were cracked, he lent me a new pair saying hang onto them until you get your new ones sorted, top man! RIP
cheers, Mike.

Unfortunately, I didn't know him but did admire his quick cars. RIP
