I always try and save money where I can.Owner asked me to sort out the Wiper motor,
as it hadnt worked in a few years.
After putting power to it, it was obvious it was kaput.
Took it along to my Local motor winding company.Have used them many times for alternators & starter motors etc.Never had any issues and always fairly priced.
After a few weeks I chased them up and they reluctantly told me, it wasnt what they do
but they can foward it to a specialist they use,who was confident they can sort it.
Weeks past, and they replied with a quote. They came back with £475 plus vat.
Which coincidently is about the same as a new one.
I spoke to my guy, who gave the ok.As it would be original to the car, fitting to loom etc.
I collected it and paid cash on August 15th.
It came back all shiny and painted (as expected) However,I noticed the 12 ohm resistor
was still the original one. This raised a flag, as I was pretty sure that the resistor
was a likely cause of failure.
Wired it up yesterday & nothing.Dead.It just got hot.
Phoned later in day,and was told that the guy I need to speak too wasnt available(suprise)
Well first thing Monday,Im gonna be on their doorstep.Im not settling for another fix.
Not gonna leave till the cash is in my hand.
Anyone got any idea if im within my rights to get refund as opposed to having it fixed,as it wasnt actually supplied by them but a repair?
