Beautiful shots of your progress, especially from the engine build. :)

Keep going strong, the end is near,

Thanks for the update Darren. I don't often comment but reading this thread is always a highlight. It's lovely to see how ambitious people do this with some real attention to detail, in contrast with my snail-pace homegrown efforts!

I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

The street injectors has a BOSCH number EP/DC45R3 engraved. Bosch order number 0408 004 003 Porsche order number 901 110 271 00
opening pressure 15 to 18 bar. This are the only injectors available and are also used in RSR engines"[/I]
EP/DCC45R3 then.

...or at least it certainly feels like it, August was a slow month!

With Nick's commitments at Tuthills and other issues the engine didn't progress as quickly as hoped and the car has largely been in Gary's way as he's been busy with other projects...

....we have formulated a plan of how to incorporate torsion bars and regular rubber bushes with the RSR covers and the car will go back to Center Gravity for these to be fitted after the engine has been run in....

Image

...in the last month Gary has also completed a couple of minor jobs like backdating the jack tubes, which no one will ever notice!

...love how these home made pins turned out 8)

Engine....

Post by Darren65 »

It hasn't just been Nick's heavy schedule that's slowed things with the engine, with required normal off-the-shelf fittings suddenly being on back order! :?

Originally the RSR engines had a single oil feed to the centre cams.....

Image

....however with the introduction of the 934/935 this was extended to the spray bar to improve lubrication, which most engines have now have, and we thought the 935 set-up would be a good way to go which look like this...

Image

...only to discover we couldn't find the banjo fittings anywhere with no date they'd be available! Nick did suggest a work around but I don't think he was serious!!! ...

Image

...plan B, and actually a cleaner look, was to use Cohline double banjos and these were ordered over the Bank Holiday weekend....

Image

...only for these to arrive on Wednesday!! Another week gone! :? ....

Image

....apologies accepted, it didn't take long to tidy thing up when the correct fittings did arrive and oil feed now looking like it just left the factory race department 8) ...

Engine...

...and with the engine complete it was time to get it in the car! :)

...turning up at Nick's to lend a hand it was surreal to see an RSR engine casually sat waiting in the car port along with the recycling and his Landy project!...
