Good to hear from you Chris and hope all's well?

Think I'll live with the blue as can't be arsed to go back to Grand Prix White! :?

As for next I'm guessing you missed the Pink Figaro?......once you've reached that pinnacle there is nothing more! :drunken:

The Figaro is sold and off to a new home.....I'm really truly gutted and it makes me feel sick :(

A lot of love went into that car, I hope the new owner properly appreciates it.

We spotted another mistake with the shell, fortunately it can be corrected....

...F-Series cars had an angle on the jacking tube....

Image

...whereas they were square on the G-Series....

Image

...of course the 3.0RS was a G-Series but in many, many ways it was really still an early car.....

....more work to do with the angle grinder! :?

....you would not believe the time spent researching, discussing and agonising over engine pins....or indeed the time it took to locate and fit them!

...but glad we made our own and they do look exactly as they should :) ....

....and most happy with the door cards fabricated by Gary. You see these fitted numerous ways and often with numerous screws!

That's probably due to the door cards becoming saggy with age due to only 3 screws originally being used to secure then along the length....but then 3 screws it was meant to be....

Image

...one thing that gave me great pleasure was being able to use the door handles that were fitted in my 2.4E when I purchased it 15 years ago! They had been fitted to that car 15-20 years beforehand so now at least 30 years old and original items.

These handles are still available although the originals had a shiny finish to the plastic as opposed to the later productions which have a dull matt appearance...

That’s a shame about the Figaro, I know you put a lot of work into it but guessing not getting much use now.

RS is looking spectacular! Can’t wait to see / hear it fire up!!

Obviously the car is epic in 1001 ways.

And for me it’s aspects like the door handles from your E.
I’m a soppy sod, and it’s threads of connection like those which resonate with me.
Every time you climb in and pull the door closed, there will be a physical and mental contact renewed with a longer and deeper history of ownership.

PS. Can I get a ride!?
