TEN DAYS TO GO

Some reminders today about food on Saturday 19th PM at our DDK hotel.

Resident diners [ those booked into hotel overnight] are on their system as paid as we are all on a dinner, bed and breakfast rate – all you need do is make your menu selection for Saturday when you check in – be it Friday or Saturday.

Non – resident diners – you are not on their system- to avoid confusion and to speed up service etc. – please phone hotel [PM me or Spit Nolan if you need the phone number] and book in for DDK dinner on Saturday 19th – leaving a credit card number to secure booking.
On arrival at hotel – make your menu selection before heading for the bar!

This ensures that everyone sitting down for dinner has paid- and chosen – speedy service will ensue!

Ten days later - back home on the West Coast of Ireland - and just about recovered- i still get very tired! :shock:
Thanks everyone for coming - and the kind words- makes it all worthwhile.
Shame about the weather but IMO still a great weekend!
The format seems to work fine, meet at a good place Saturday AM -optional spin to a decent destination in the PM. Hotel + dinner Saturday and drive to a decent event Sunday.
Shelsley was the perfect balance IMO , distance , size , interest etc- I loved it!!
So some news from me- I am hoping my recovery continues to improve - so I aim to really do things in 2026 that had to be cancelled in 2025.
I will be doing at least three UK historic rallies in Tango 914 and I'm now going UK hillclimbing in Martini 924 - Shelsley and an afternoon with jwhillracer have got me totally hooked. :compress:
I'll also aim at Goodwood Members and hopefully a couple of longer distance road trips [Did someone mention Scotland?] and maybe Spa 6 hours.
all of this means that I am going to step down from this event...................
Fear not, however folks Steve McMorn [geordie71] is going to step in to join Thomas, Gareth, Ian and Guy to do DDK Meet Edition 3 2026.
We just spent 45 mins on the phone - he's got some great ideas!!
I will of course be there next year [with Guy}
- I will see you all then , if not before! :cheers:
Best
