any tips & tricks to get the rubber relay holder re inserted
any tips & tricks to get the rubber relay holder behind the fuel gauge that holds the indicator relay re inserted and fixed back into its hole ?
On an associated note , appears the new relays you buy are not the same as the original .. or at least not for my italian spec car . Original, pull the handbrake on relay is activated and the red flashing light within the oil temp / pressure gauge flashes .. new one, do the same and not only does the red light flash but also both indicator warning lights too ??
hand brake down and both activate indicators correctly
reason for my trying a new one was for some reason during the clm trip the relay started flashing everything at double speed . There is a possibility now I've cleaned up the contacts on the old one it is mended .. will find out for sure next time i drive it

Flashing at double speed might be an earth issue, as would flashing the indicators too

Lots of lube and a little heat help. Be careful with the heat, as it’s too easy to apply too much and suddenly everything distorts and gets fubar’ed

Round one through the bulkhead with the lip on it?
If it that’s one I ended up putting washing liquid around the edge, but not too much or it pops back out again when you put the relay in…

Simple Vaseline for me just because I use it on the Lola and have it in the garage.
