Hi,

it`s been a while since I was here. I want to change the shocks on my 67S, what are my options?
Bushings, same question.

I'm no SWB guru, but shocks wise on an S you should be looking at koni adjustables, bilsteins were on the E, boge on the T

Re bushings there are 3 general options:
OEM - relatively expensive, but good stuff
Polybushes/Neatrix - Weltmeister or Superpro, tighten up the ride a bit, but are prone to squeaking
Elephant Racing Polybronze - the mutts nuts! Although rear trailing arm bushes give a very hard ride.

I'd suggest a mix of all 3 , Elephant A arm bushes, neatrix spring plate, poly anti roll bar bushes and OEM rear trailing arm

Just to comment. I have ER bushings all around my car, with 21 and 26mm bars. I also added rubber sway bar bushes on the front (no rear bar) and new shocks all around.

My car rides as well as my Merc, and takes bumps better. No complaints.

Due to the size of the SWB rear dampers you are alnost certainly limited to Konis. They are available to order, but they are not cheap. Try Roger Bray. Superpro bushes do not squeek.

Dom do you have the rear monoballs? they're the only thing poeple say make the elephant set up a bit harsh. everything else they do is great (although you pay for excellence)

has anyone got the Superpro rear swing arm bushes fitted? I know Ian Donkin has them fitted & highly rates them. Woul dlove to know how they wear long term & if they do begin to squeek eventually.

I'm thinking of these or the elephant ones for my car

I have fitted them to Bahama68's 68S and Ferryman's 72S

I was advised to stay away from monoball on street applications. Too harsh for street use.

i priced them recently at about £85 trade and £105 retail plus vat.

i am currently rebuilding the front suspension on a 67.
most of the bushes are for the 68 models onwards as the design of the a arm and cross member changed. it would be worth checking before you order
you can buy the original rubbers from porsche. we are going to make some from polyurethane for our car.

When I rebuilt my '66 911 I swapped in a front suspension set-up (cross member and A arms) from a '68 so that I could use Superpros. At the rear I used a genuine Porsche bush on the inside of the spring plate as its smaller on the early cars and costs about £6, and Superpro on the outside and the banana arms
