That explains the couple in a green Fraser Nash I saw on the Monday morning ferry at Calais. They were trying to circumnavigate the one-way system the French have devised at the port!

Sounds like a great trip - those pictures of the 2nd day's weather conditions (together with numerous pictures that Winston has posted in the past) reinforce the fact that the Frazer Nash crowd are a hardy bunch !!

I saw this car at The Depot Weedon Bec on Sunday

Chapman Mercury One. Built by Phil Chapman. Hill raced. The owner said it did 28 seconds at Shelley. Pretty rapid if correct. I'm guessing some of the Hill Climbers know about this car? ImageImage

I don’t know the car Neil but 28 seconds at Shelsley is single seater territory so doesn’t sound plausible to me. If you knew the driver name there I can probably look it up

Mike Hawley owned and drove it for several years.
The best time I can see for him is 37.27 in June 2018, so as Wayne says 38's rather than 28's

I must of misheard. My gut reaction was 28 isn't possible in that car but I didn't want to ruin the interaction.

Anyway the new owner has added a handbrake and drives around the lanes
