Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Thanks Rob, I think thing might be tough this year!
James, purely coincidence, but very relevant this year, Surname and age!!
The latter being why it is going to be tough this year...
My seat belts are valid until the end of 2029, my new slicks will be done for in 3 years and I'll be naffed-off using a trailer soon, so the Lola days are numbered.
I think my last hillclimb car will be the Boxster.
Or the old 911 even!
Quite a contrast.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
I did get the alternator back today - brilliant turnaround by my guy in Nottingham (Auto Supplies in Nottingham if you need them). Brilliant old school engineering, great value and reusing something and not throwing it away. No need for a cosmetic refurb(he does do those but it cannot be seen on a Boxster and matter less on a competition car), so rewound, replaced the seized bearing and the fried regulator and a clean bill of health for a more than reasonable £85

Missed that connection Wayne!
£85 is a steal and so quick too.
Hope it all goes well later.

Went for a little drive.

We keep the sunshine to ourselves, saving the rain for when the tourists arrive.

It is a blatant grockle car, tbh... not sure a Kernow bumper sticker would fool anyone. But if you could hold off on the rain until Saturday, that would be lovely.

Fitted my restored / preserved Recaros including double-locker bases and recovered in original ‘72/‘73 leatherette (NLA) which arrived from Michael Schwappacher in Germany earlier this week.

Replaced both front calipers with new and pressure bled all four corners - brakes have never been so good!
Just valve clearances and oil change and I’m ready… I think/hope.

I replaced the seals but they really need refurbishing properly. I have four rear calipers and two fronts to sell if anyone’s interested.neilbardsley wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 4:37 pm What happened to the old calipers?
