Look how roughly that blue paint has been applied! Looks like emulsion done with a 2in brush.
And all you concours resto fans, look at the state of the bodywork under the wheel arch. Evidence of a hard life, battle scars worn like medals. Love it!

thanks James
Alan Hamilton - passed away 4 March at 82 YO
along with his father before him was the importer of Porsche cars here in AUS since 1951
mainly in the early 911 era onward until the hostile takeover of the importership by Porsche in the early 1990s after the world stock market crash of the late 1980s
had a massive crash in a Lola 332 and had serious health problems since worsening over the last 10 years
in parallel with the Aldingtons and Porsche cars GB,put a human face on Porsche cars in AUS,not like the faceless VW lackies of today who are only there to create wealth for VW shareholders
your pic from the late 1980s shows him with the 3.0 RS that came here out of the 6 RHD cars
he also had a 917/30 which he drove on display occasions
cheers
Dennis
That's really interesting Dennis, thank you.
At first I didn't realise James' pic was of #9103 as other than the wipers couldn't quite see it was RHD. Initially I thought it might be a rep although obviously the flag mirror is correct for RHD 3.0RS's but the seats fitted at that time are certainly a little different!
I'll hunt for some more pics of the car around that period
