The problem with billionaires car collections and huge auction houses is you have to wonder if some stuff is actually ever really for sale or is it just a massive marketing exercise for both to get themselves huge amounts of press and keep them in the limelight and the cars fresh once not seen for a long time....

I didn't know any of the 718 had been converted to centre driving. Was this for Formula 2?

Only four 718 RSKs were factory-built with the ability to convert between center and offset steering

Lots of good marketing for Mecum and an opportunistic offering from Seinfeld

Yeah, switchable for F2; this is 718-028 in centre seat config for the 1960 Brussels F2 Grand Prix (DNQ)

Priced £300k. Value around £90k I guess - £120k for the 911 Turbo, minus circa £30k to undo the conversion.

Seems like a bargain for £300k
1970 911T, Signal orange (Restoration thread)
1988 3.2 Carrera backdate, Black
2001 996 Turbo, Lapis blue (am I allowed to put that here?)
I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

You might remember this one from a Classic Porsche feature a few years back. At Scottdale the ex press office / Roger Bray non-matching Carrera 2 123845 went unsold at $420k against estimate $480 - 580k. The same car failed to sell at Quail in 2018

Remember the SCCA Speedster 84333 that sold for $224k at Monterey in August last year?

Now subject of some kind of investment scheme, 'shares' in the car have been sold and it's being flipped (the consignor's term) with a buy now price $375k quoted and a BaT listing

Did I ever tell my Seinfeld story? Apologies for repeating it. A friend has a place in Long Island and his mate did some work on Jerry's place. My friends mate came back to check on his work crew to find them in Jerryt garage playing with the cars. Needless to say they were all sacked and I suspect Jerry was never told.

Play with Seinfeld's Porsches for a day or keep your job; now there's a dilemma

Exceedingly rare Porsche for sale here - a 1973 impact bumper car: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/326438249071

I asked the vendor for clarification and he told me this listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/405525399115 was probably more in my price range. That seemed like a funny attitude to have when somebody tries to help but I could not deny his overall proposition.

Playing Devils Advocate I presume it can only be a very late 73 production number - but why describe it as a 73 god only knows
