Thanks Clive, re the hillclimb I thought it was going to be a trackday sort of status, pull on your helmet and let rip, but I may just get serious and get a licence, it's abouit time!

A couple of caveats to Graham (911hillclimber’s) notes -
1/ Classic Nostalgia is the MAC’s most popular and over-subscribed event of the year, so please don’t get your hopes too high. However, a different and interesting car will certainly help your chances.
2/ While it definitely is an event where taking part is more important than winning, it still is highly competitive in the various classes.
3/ If you are planning to enter and haven’t competed at Shelsley Walsh recently, or at all, I would strongly recommend you to attend a Drivers’ School first. It can definitely bite at competitive speeds!

Remember this is not a competitive event, so you don't HAVE to go flat out...

Sadly my car way too new for that event so won’t be able to don my overalls.

Ah, that rd mist bit, looking at JW's times and then looking at PH's times will be depressing.

Sadly the Lola is too young at 1978.

I'll enter even though it clashes with a Midland Championship round, but getting 'in' may be a bit 'lottery ticket'.

Excellent, i also might be running at Classic Nostalgia, though not in a pure Porsche, but in GN Wasp, whose genes collide with Porsche....always need cheering on......
Also referring to Graham's 'needs list', a 'full race licence ' should (i believe) read 'Speed National',the full race grade, for Circuit racing has many further application requirements over the speed version, for sprint/hillclimbing. The application process can be bewildering. W

Yes, I think you are correct, my mistake.
For speed events (includes hills) the application does not need a medical report, but there are a lot of medical questions asked, and a YES to some can mean some hurdles to jump, but not very high.

Applications for the licence is all on line now, quite simple but have a passport type photo (selfie) ready to load to the application.

Mine cost about £70 for 2025.
Helmets must be worn and will have to be to the right spec, overalls the same, and I think also for gloves.

Cost of entry to this sport is not cheap.

I will be visiting Goodwood FoS a week(end) earlier, so perhaps I could extend my stay in the UK for a week and could participate in the DDK Meet Edition 2.
The only problem is that I will not visit FoS with my Speedster (Black Betty), but with my RUF Edition 944 S2...

Would that be a problem?
