Late '60's, early '70's I had a part time job as a pump attendant to supplement my normal employment.
Pay was 25p an hour and I worked 2 or 3 evenings plus Saturdays.
Met the lady who became my wife at the pumps....

Early '70s for me - local Esso garage. When taking the readings off the pumps at the end of the day, I soon learnt that the true amount of fuel dispensed rarely matched the written record kept of sales to each customer. 1966/67 I worked through the summer at the 12th Milestone in Templepatrick, when it was just 2 petrol pumps and a kiosk, not the big shopping services that it is now.
And they were just petrol pumps - none of that smelly diesel stuff!

Ran my old GT 225 Series 3 Lambretta on theat price of fuel back then!
As an apprentice was paid £5 a week.
